Dave Greeley is a sports business expert with deep experience across Major League Soccer (MLS), the National Football League (NFL), National Basketball Association (NBA) and NCAA. Greeley has advised private investors in sports and entertainment-related businesses, and he is intimately familiar with team and league sporting operations.

Most recently, Greeley served for seven years as president of Two Oak Ventures (previously Precourt Sports Ventures)—owner operator of the 27th team in Major League Soccer (MLS), Austin FC.

On behalf of club majority owner Anthony Precourt, Greeley led the years-long successful effort to bring MLS to Austin, Texas—from the 2017 announcement that MLS’ Columbus Crew would explore options in another city to the January 2019 announcement that Austin would get an MLS team.

Through this, Greeley directed all functions related to deal structuring, political relations, negotiations, staffing, financing, vendor selection and procurement, and community engagement, among others.

Prior to Greeley’s work with Precourt at Austin FC and previously Columbus Crew SC, he served as president of MLS’ Chicago Fire. In total, Greeley has more than 10 seasons of experience in operating and investing in the soccer industry. Previously, Greeley was chief marketing officer of the NFL’s Chicago Bears, where he re-engineered its commercial business ventures and helped develop the new Soldier Field, leading to a 3X enterprise value increase for the team.

Greeley has also served executive roles with the Detroit Pistons/Palace Sports & Entertainment and Vulcan Sports & Entertainment, including the Portland Trailblazers, the Seattle Seahawks, and the acquisition and management of a college sports rights holder, Action Sports Media.

He is a diehard University of Michigan fan, having earned a BA and MBA at the university. Greeley resides in Austin, Texas, where he is a member of the Austin Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors.
